LEONSEGS participated, through its partner Paris Lodron University of Salzburg (PLUS), in the 43rd EARSeL Symposium, held in Manchester from June 17th to 20th, 2024. This prestigious international conference focused on research exchange in Earth Observation (EO) and attracted a diverse audience of around 200 researchers, students and professionals from Earth and environmental sciences that work with remotely sensed data.

Standing for Large Earth Observation New Space Ecosystem Ground Segment, in the realm of Earth Observation (EO) data, LEONSEGS was presented at GSAW 2024 and SATELLITE 2024, two of the most important events related to this topic.

LEONSEGS, with its ambitious plans, aims to revolutionize the business landscape for Earth Observation (EO) data. It is not just another project, it is a game-changer. It brings to the table a unique solution, a service based on Ground Segment facilities, to cater to the needs of users eager to explore new space EO missions.

LEONSEGS stands for Large Earth Observation New Space Ecosystem Ground Segment and is set to be a federated environment prototype of EO data providers that collaborate all together through harmonized interfaces and that are managed by a central automated multi-mission service, able to coordinate and produce for the End-User complex EO product.
