LEONSEGS wraps up a successful week at Geospatial World Forum 2026

It was a productive few days for the LEONSEGS team in Amsterdam at the Geospatial World Forum. From the 29th of April to 1st of May, we were at the RAI Amsterdam to reconnect with the geospatial community and share the latest developments regarding our work with federated ground segments.

A key highlight of the event was the Space2Earth seminar on the 30th of April. Alvaro Nuñez Martinez from GMV, the project coordinators, presented LEONSEGS to a large audience of industry professionals. He explained how federated architectures are essential for bridging the gap between complex satellite technology and the individuals who actually need to utilise the data. The presentation was well received and led to many insightful discussions at our stand throughout the afternoon.

The stand remained active for the duration of the three-day event. It was a great opportunity to meet a diverse range of people, from established industry figures to those from new start-ups. Our primary goal is to make data more accessible across Europe, and the positive feedback we gathered indicates that the project is moving in the right direction.

As a gesture of appreciation for those who took the time to learn about our work, we provided LEONSEGS portable chargers. These proved very popular, particularly for attendees managing long schedules, and offered a practical way for visitors to take a reminder of the project with them.

The trip to Amsterdam was a success. It provided an important platform to strengthen connections within the European space ecosystem and demonstrate the progress the consortium has made. The atmosphere at GWF 2026 was great, and it was a privilege to contribute to the important conversations currently shaping the future of the industry.
