The LEONSEGS project recently gained significant traction at the EO Summit Terrawatch 2025, held in New York City on June 10-11. This summit was a strategic venue for Sonia Navarro, representing consortium partner Aistech Space, to promote LEONSEGS and build connections within the Earth Observation (EO) community.

A main goal for Aistech was to share information about the LEONSEGS EU project and invite attendees to the project’s online workshop that took place on June 17. Discussions specifically targeted organisations that align with LEONSEGS’ objectives. This included active engagement with well-known New Space companies exhibiting at the summit, such as Ororatech, Pixxel, UP42, Kuva Space, and Earth Daily Analytics.

Beyond the formal exhibition areas, informal networking sessions, organised by participants before and after the summit, created extra opportunities to discuss LEONSEGS in a more relaxed setting.

Sonia Navarro also held one-on-one meetings with various end-users and EO service providers present, including Axa Climate, U-Space, Muon Space, Graniot, and Satlantis. These conversations were vital for exploring shared challenges and opportunities, particularly concerning how commercial data is used and services related to the project’s aims.

To maximise reach, flyers promoting the LEONSEGS project and the online workshop were distributed throughout the event. These materials proved effective in generating interest and boosting attendance at the subsequent online session.

Overall, Aistech’s presence at the EO Summit considerably boosted LEONSEGS’s outreach and visibility. The event was an effective platform for raising awareness within the New Space and end-user communities, enhancing the online workshop’s profile, and encouraging potential follow-up engagements with commercial stakeholders.
